Ideas for Detox

Day 4 of the detox! Here are some ideas for food combinations to help you continue to heal your body through the vegan and gluten-free detox.

breakfasts
- Green tea or matcha tea
- Juices (the one I like the most is carrot, beetroot, ginger, orange, and cucumber). If you don't have a pump, you can make fruit smoothies with coconut milk too. The one I like the most is the banana with maca, dates and cinnamon

Snack
- Creole black corn tortillas with guacamole, beans, or vegan cheese (my favorite is Samsara's Nut Cheese)
- Mix of nuts with dried cranberries

Lunch
- Salads or Bowls! Mix any of these ingredients:
1. Base: rice, quinoa, zucchini noodles, sweet potato or potatoes, lettuce or arugula
2. Soy, mushrooms or legumes: tempeh, tofu, mushrooms (mushroom, crimini, portobello, shitake, oyster, etc.), lentils, beans, chickpeas
3. Vegetables & Fruits: tomato, cucumber, carrot, sweet corn, purple cabbage, sprouts, roasted vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, onion), roasted vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, guicoy sazon), kale,
4. Seeds: pepitoria, sesame, sunflower, chia, flaxseed, hemp
5. Sauces: cilantro dressing, peanut sauce, vinaigrette, tomato sauce, tomatillo, avocado sauce, chimichurri, olive tapenade, Asian dressing, pesto, nutritional yeast

Snack
- Energy balls (dates, amaranth, cocoa, agave)
- Vegetables with hummus

Dinner
- Vegetable soup: mushrooms, broccoli, julienne, corn, beans, tomato, borscht, cauliflower, potato & leek, carrot, guicoyitos, guicoy seasoning, asparagus, pho, tom ka gai, curries (no shrimp paste or fish sauce )

Further! Add fermented foods like kimchi, sauerkraut, kefir, kombucha, tempeh, or miso to add probiotics to your gut flora. Instead of using soy sauce, use tamari since it is gluten-free. Substitute sugar in recipes with agave, stevia, or maple syrup. Remember to wait at least 12 hours between dinner and breakfast to allow your digestive system to digest what you ate during the day.
