Recipe: Turnip Pickle

Turnip Pickle Recipe

- 1 lb turnip
- 3 tablespoons of salt
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons of whole allspice
- 6 sprigs of thyme
- 6 bay leaves
- 1 glass of natural vinegar
- 2-3 stalks of celery
- 2 heads of crushed garlic

1. Pour 2 or 3 liters of water into a pot and add all the ingredients except the turnip, celery and garlic. Heat over low heat until it boils.

2. While the water comes to a boil, wash the turnips well, cut them into large squares and place them in a large jar along with the crushed garlic.
3. Pour the boiling dressing up to where the mouth of the jar begins.
3. Put the celery stalks on top and cover the jar.
4. Rest for 48 hours and then put in the fridge.
